We want the best for you — even when your journey with Magic comes to an end. A proper and respectful resignation helps us support your client, protect your record, and keep the door open for future opportunities with Magic.
🔹 Step 1: Notify Your Account Lead (AL) First
Before telling your client or stopping work — talk to your AL.
Your AL will:
- Help you think through your decision
- Guide you through offboarding steps
- Coordinate with team and your client
✨ Why: It shows professionalism and keeps you eligible for future matches
🔹 Step 2: Work with Your AL on Creating Your Offboarding Plan
After notifying your AL, work together on a clear offboarding plan by filling out and completing the Role Summary Document to wrap up your tasks smoothly and ensure your client’s work continues without disruption.
Your Plan Should Include:
- 🗂️ Listing all active tasks, deadlines, and projects
- 📁 Organizing files, credentials, and documents for easy access
- 📝 Preparing a short handover or role summary for your replacement
- 📅 Confirming your final working date
💡 Why It Matters: A clear plan prevents confusion, protects your reputation, and leaves your client with a strong final impression.
🔹 Step 3: Stay Professional Until Your Final Day
Even after submitting your resignation, it’s important to stay engaged and professional until your last working day.
✅ Do’s:
- Continue completing your daily tasks and commitments
- Maintain respectful, timely communication with your client and team
- Ensure your handover tasks are complete before you leave
❌ Avoid:
- Disengaging or becoming unresponsive
- Leaving incomplete tasks or unclear handovers
💭 Remember: How you finish your role defines your long-term reputation and eligibility for future Magic opportunities.
🔹 Step 4: Confirm Final Day & Complete Exit Steps
Once your offboarding tasks are complete, your final day will be confirmed by your AL.
📋 Before leaving, make sure you’ve:
- Completed all handover requirements
- Returned all client and company credentials
- Coordinated your confirmed last day
You may also be asked to complete an exit form or feedback survey — this helps Magic continuously improve the assistant experience.
🌟 Final Note: Leaving on good terms keeps your record in good standing and makes you eligible for future projects or reapplication opportunities with Magic.
